On Wednesday, December 15th, 2021 the 33 – year – old superstar professional striker for Argentina (international) and most recently for Barcelona (club football), Sergio Aguero, sadly and very emotionally announced his early retirement from playing pro football. His decision to retire playing football professionally was based purely on the recommendations from various doctors due to a heart problem that he Aguero has been battling lately.
Sergio had to abruptly leave a match six weeks ago as he was experiencing extreme chest pains, and following a multitude of tests and scans physicians determined that it was no longer safe for Aguero to play football any longer because of a serious issue with his heart.
He initially left a match holding his chest and struggling heavily during a contest versus Alaves in the Spanish League on Saturday, October 30th, 2021, and that was the beginning of the end for Sergio’s brilliant pro football career.
Sergio Aguero’s Professional Football Career
Aguero is known as one of the best strikers of his generation for strong and booming shot as well as his explosive and quick – footed movement on the pitch. Throughout Sergio’s professional football career, he played for Argentinainternationally as well as Club Atletico Independiente from 2003 to 2006, Club Atletico de Madrid, S. A. D. from 2006 to 2011, the Manchester City Football Club from 2011 to 2021, and the Football Club Barcelona from 2021 to the present day.
Sergio scored 260 – goals for Manchester United which is a sacred club – record. He tallied a record of 12 – hat tricks in his total of 184 – Premier League goals which happens to be the most for an overseas footballer, and the 4th – most of all – time. Aguero scored one of the most famous goals in the history of the English Premier League when he sent home the dramatic goal as the stoppage – time winner versus the Queens Park Rangers which clinched the title for Manchester City on the last day of the 2011 – 2012 season.
Overall, the Argentinian global – star scored 427 goals over the course of his 786 career games. Sergio Aguero will always be remembered as one of the greatest footballers of his time. It is very sad that his unbelievable football career has to come to such an abrupt and early end, but I wish him the very best in his retirement, and hopefully he will find something else to excel at sometime soon.
